Value
Value is perceived. You can offer three people a pen and have three different guesses as to how much that pen costs.
In life, there is always a “better” or “worse” spouse or friend. What encourages you to seek out and maintain that relationship is the value that spouse or friend brings to your life.
Similarly, when hiring for a new position, value is what sets candidates apart. An employee can always be paid more or less. The value the candidate brings to the organization is factored into what salary is offered.
When you’re looking for a copywriter, editor, or proofreader, you’re guaranteed to find someone to do the job for more or less than your ideal rate.
The difference between a poor working experience and a good one is what makes your partner a fit for the opportunity. Are they credible? What uniquely sets them apart? Is the relationship pleasant or are there communication breakdowns?
If you’re looking for someone to work on your copy, it can always be done for more or for less. An experience that is valuable, productive, and pleasant? Priceless.
