Thankfulness: Say It Out Loud

In honor of #ThankfulThursday, I’ve been thinking about something. How many things, tangible or intangible, are we thankful for but never articulate? The thoughts roll around in our head, always on the tip of our tongue, but they’re never actually articulated because our thinking is derailed by yet another thought. Our thankfulness doesn’t make it into conversation or a text message because we’re too distracted.

For a moment or two, try to release your thankful thought(s). To your coworker: “Hey, thanks for your help on this. I really appreciate it.” To your friend: “Man, you always know how to make me laugh. That’s cool.” To yourself: “Thank you for each step of progress you’ve made, no matter how incremental.” Life is far too short and unpredictable to withhold thankfulness from those we live with; let’s say it out loud.
