#TransparentTuesday
Ok so let’s be completely transparent for a bit.
I was working on a personal project and things were going great.
Then all of the sudden, things just were not going great. At. All.
I couldn’t figure out what the problem was. I was doing everything exactly like I had done before.
That was exactly the problem. I had hit a point in the project where what I did before no longer worked. To see results, I had to try something new.
Now I could have just quit right there.
Had I done that, I would have missed out on a new way of doing something. A creative solution to a common problem.
The opportunity for something great came in my willingness to pivot; to do something different. At that moment I recognized that what wasn’t working wasn’t a problem, but actually part of the solution.
My reality check was not that I wasn’t working well, but that I could add another way to do the same thing.
When reality sideswipes you, don’t beat yourself up. Take a step back, a deep breath, and think: What could be different? Your next breakthrough may depend on it.
