Our Business Concept and Evolution

Plume, Pen & Pencil is a different take on copywriting, editing and proofreading. Our niche is technical writing, however our roots are creative writing. The conception of our business is the most unexpected. Years of creative writing for short stories and nonfiction interview based articles for nonprofits collided with industry experience writing technical documents. These industries include global nutrition, software consulting, retail, fin-tech, wealth management and higher education. When realizing the juxtaposition of experiences I’ve had, creative and technical, I thought to myself: “Why not have both?” Plume, Pen, & Pencil was born.

However I didn’t have the name yet. It came to me in the most unexpected of places and caters to my love of alliteration while briefly describing our services. Our branding is pink, something uncommon in the technical world. I reclaimed a color that used to have a negative and draining connotation for me and created something positive and life giving instead. Perhaps if we meet over my favorite thing, coffee, I’ll share the story with you. Until then, I’ll share my professional expertise and vibrant energy.
